I got the idea to build this small vintage tram, when I was travelling to Budapest last month. There, in the old town, I saw these 50-60 year old, but beautifully renovated trams, that just fit into the cityscape, with old buildings so nicely.
I spent the last month designing this cute little tram, with a tram stop. Like in many cities where there are a lot of these older trams, the tram stops are much more modern. I designed my to look modern, and with that, create a nice looking contrast between the tram and the tram stop.
My product idea contains a bit of track for display, a bit more than half of it is paved, the remaining part is ment to represent green track, where tram tracks un trough grass. On this part you can also see the wooden sleepers that hold the rails.
This model would be a nice stand alone display piece, but I can also easily imagine it in a Lego city. for that reason I built the base to be at the same level as a roadplate on top of a baseplate.
