The Design: It is designed to give a comfortable feel to the already existing IR Controller by controlling a wheeled model with ease, while maintaining 1:1 scale look. The controller functions are relativity the same as a any standard hobby grade pistol grip radio controller.
Inspiration: My inspiration came from hobby grade R/C controllers which are simple and easy to use so it made me think why not design a pistol grip Lego IR Controller version & so it begins.
Similar Functions: The design functions no differently than your standard hobby grade 2Ch R/C pistol grip controller The controller features a trigger to drive & a knob wheel for the steering
The Control Functions: The control functions are standard for any 2Ch R/C pistol grip controller as you have your standard trigger for throttle & knob wheel for the steering. The trigger is used to drive your model, pull the trigger to go forward & push the trigger to go in reverse, as for the knob wheel it has a twisting motion for steering & it is as simple as twisting the knob wheel forward to go Right or Back to go left.
The Use: I designed this new controller for the easy operation of wheeled Lego R/C models in hope of it being featured in a future wheeled R/C Model Lego kit. I feel that as well as having fun building a Lego model that it would be just as much fun to also build a comfortable controller to operate it with.
