The Volkswagen Type 2, known officially (depending on body type) as the Transporter, Kombi or Microbus, or, informally, as the Bus (US) or Camper (UK), is a forward control panel van introduced in 1950 by the German automaker Volkswagen as its second car model. Following – and initially deriving from Volkswagen's first model, the Type 1 (Beetle) – it was given the factory designation Type 2

Like the Beetle, the van has received numerous nicknames worldwide, including the "microbus", "minibus", and, because of its popularity during the counterculture movement of the 1960s, Hippie van/wagon, and still remains iconic for many hippies today.

Steeped in nostalgia and now an icon, the lego city world needs this model for its surfers, the youn and old and even the hipster minifigs, we know they all want one!!

This is a few weeks design and now version 6 or 7, the design has been stream lined to as with most lego models provide functionality and the looks and stance of the real thing. As yet i have not included a minifigure, as mentioned the bus is suited to all, I personally would go with a hippy type character and include may be a surf board or two.

The model includes swing side doors, rear lifting door, internal cooker etc and a nice cosy bed at the back, also included is the bike and bike rack for the down to earth/sporty characters who opitimise this lifestyle.
