Belgrade Skyline

I present to you "Belgrade skyline". This is a fair representation of my hometown Belgrade and it's landmarks. The proportions on this set are not ideal but I wanted to focus more on details and silhouettes of buildings. This set have approximately 700 pieces and includes five landmarks: National Museum of Serbia, Belgrade Tower, Avala Tower, Western City Gate and Ada Bridge.

Western city gate - also known as the Genex Tower is a 24-story residential building built in 1977 by the architect Mihajlo Mitrović. Many of Belgrade's buildings are made in the brutalist style, but this real concrete skyscraper, 117 meters high and with a revolving restaurant at the very top, makes it stand out among all the buildings in Belgrade. It remained the tallest building in Belgrade for 42 years.

National museum of Serbia - is the largest and oldest museum in Belgrade, built in 1844. The museum contains about 400 thousand objects of art and is located in the very center of the city on Republic Square. Next to the museum stands Prince Mihailo monument, erected in 1882 in honor of the Serbian Prince Mihailо Obrenović.

Belgrade Tower - is the tallest residential building in Belgrade with a height of 168 meters which is currently under construction and will open in 2023. Belgrade Tower is part of the Belgrade Waterfront project located on the embankment of the Sava River. It has an unusual design, the building widens towards the base and narrows towards the top. It was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, which made its name with the design of the Burj Khalifa.

Avala tower -  is a 204 meter television tower located on Mount Avala, built in 1964 in a brutalist and futuristic style by architects Uglješa Bogunović and Slobodan Janjić, and engineer Milan Krstić. The tower has an unusual design not perched directly into the ground, but standing on its legs and one of the only towers that have triangular cross section.

Ada bridge - is a bridge over the Sava river, built in 2011. The bridge connects the old Belgrade with new Belgrade passing through Ada Island. With a height of 200 meters, the Ada Bridge is one of the tallest structures in Belgrade

Why do I built this model? I've always loved Lego architecture sets, but none of them had a place for my hometown. I want to fill this gap with my own take on lego skyline sets.

Why I believe it would make a great LEGO set? This set will perfectly complement the Lego architecture sets and modular buildings.

I hope you enjoy it.
