Introducing Holiday Buddies: Seasonal friends to build and display throughout the year!
In 2023, I completed the Daily Builds Calendar, with 311 prompts. As a result of the calendar, I discovered a newfound love of designing brick-built characters! A few of the prompts inspired the creation of some delightful little characters that I affectionately refer to as my Holiday Buddies. After making a few, I decided I wanted to complete the collection in 2024 with a year's worth of buddies - one celebrating each month of the year!
Meet the buddies and read their bios below!
January: Disco Dani - she's ready to ring in the new year in her fancy shades and comfy slippers! (From the comfort of her home, of course!)
February: Henrique Heart - Here to woo you with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and spread love around!
March: Aaron Go Bragh - don't let his expression fool you - Aaron is a happy-go-lucky pal, ready to tip his hat to each new friend he meets!
April: Eartha Joy - Ready to combat climate change, this heroine has positive plans for the planet!
May: Watermelon Ricki - This fun-loving friend spends his days designing the coolest builds, and nights enjoying crawfish boils and snowcones!
June: Rainbow Rae- This fabulous friend is here to celebrate Pride! They are proudly waving the trans flag and rocking their colorful chucks for the parade, of course!
July: Pat and Penny Popsicle - These siblings share a lot in common, including their love of eating neopolitan ice cream and launching fireworks at the neighborhood get-together!
August: Serena Sandcastle - She's all set with her supplies to build the most epic sandcastle the beach has ever seen!
September: Drew Sharp - Write On! This buddy's puns are On Point! While his students giggle and groan at his silly jokes, he's secretly their favorite teacher as he encourages each of them to Make Their Mark on the world!
October: Candi C - Sweet as can be, she's ready to bring layers of kindness and joy to all!
November: Pie Guy - He's a rather sweet and inquisitive fella! Always up for a healthy debate over which sides and desserts go best with turkey!
December: Carol Belle - This sassy queen is ready to work the dance floor in her heels while lipsyncing her favorite holiday tunes at the annual holiday party!
Build Experience: When building through the characters, you'll learn a variety of techniques for creating shape, multiple dimensions, arms, legs, faces and expressions, etc. You'll also discover build methods like the Lowell Sphere, multiple uses of brackets, and various approaches to reversing stud directions. You can also build one each month, savoring the build process throughout the year!
