Ultimate Gigan

Ok, so where did this guy come from? A few things: 1- I wanted to challenge myself to GO BIG. I have been sticking mainly to smaller models and decided it was time to make an epic build. And what’s more epic than a Kaiju? 2- I had a lot of black and red pieces… so I started googling and found out that Gigan was not only black and red (sometimes) but a mostly overlooked Kaiju and so I decided to give him a shot! I’m pretty happy with the way he turned out! Quick research explains Gigan is a cyborg creature, both organic and machine, so this design aims to stay true to that even tho it perhaps leans very heavily toward the Mech side…. Perhaps this should be titled MECHAGIGAN… maybe…

As a kid I was obsessed with the Shogun Warriors toy line - I had the huge Rodan, (my cousin had the Godzilla- man was I jealous! Still am!) Rodan remains a favorite toy in my collection and the Ultimate Gigan build is to that scale in size- and they look great next to each other ;)

As far as stats go: Ultimate Gigan is just shy of 2 feet tall, super heavy, he has a swiveling neck, pose-able shoulders, elbows, ankles and his tail can curl up or extend out- I didn’t count the bricks but it’s a lot!

One of these days I’m going to have to concoct a Godzilla at this scale for my Gigan to square off against… I’ll need to collect a lot of bricks first tho!
