This a model of a SpaceX Falcon 9R reusable rocket. The Falcon 9 family of rocketry has revolutionized access to space by dramatically pushing the limits of space travel. The latest version of the Falcon 9 is unique among the field of launchers in that the first stage is capable of reversing course and returning the launch site to land upright for reuse. This model depicts the vehicle in a landing configuration with landing legs extended and steering grid fins folded out. Also depicted is the "Octaweb" engine configuration sporting nine Merlin 1D engines. The total parts count is 5017. The model is constructed using an iterative modular technique. The scale is approximately 4.3 studs per meter.
