NASA Shuttle Discovery in Technic

Since 1981, NASA space shuttles have been rocketing from the Florida coast into Earth orbit. Designed to return to Earth and land like a giant glider, the shuttle was the world's first reusable space vehicle. More than all of that, though, the shuttle program expanded the limits of human achievement and broadened our understanding of our world.

In 1996 Lego produced the amazing 8480 Technic Space Shuttle but there has been no technic shuttle since then.

This model has 700 parts. The three rockets control the functions:

The centre rocket opens the bay doors
The right rocket lower/raises the wheels
The left rocket lifts the satellite and opens up the solar panels
