This IDEAS submission commemorates the greatest heist scene ever immortalised on film… the theft of the Blue Diamond, as seen in Wallace and Gromit: The Wrong Trousers (1993.)
It features criminal genius and master of disguise, Feathers McGraw, as he remotely controls a pair of Techno Trousers to bypass the museum's sophisticated security system. Fast asleep, and trapped in the trousers, is hapless inventor Wallace. Once the trousers are in position, feathers activates a claw inside Wallace’s helmet to snatch the diamond... but will his plan succeed?
The build includes: a brick built Feathers McGraw, the Techno Trousers, Wallace and a section of museum filled with artefacts and security lasers. The museum roof can be removed for easy access and the trousers/Wallace placed on the wall, roof, or upside down on the ceiling to depict stages from the heist scene.
The 505 peice build is brickbuilt and fits on a 16x16 plate. It took a while to come up with a suitable way to represent Wallace's head and I eventually settled on making a sticker for it. Hopefully if this ever becomes a set, then a printed head could be used which would be even better! I also created stickers to represent Feathers' map/plan and the Techno Trousers' control panel.
I think this set would be great for any fan of Wallace and Gromit. It looks great on display, but also has a bit of playabilty about it so kids (and of course adults) can have fun reenacting this iconic scene.
