The Lord of the Rings: Bag End - The Shire, Home of the Baggins

This model is a replica of Bilbo Baggin's house from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit stories. This model measures 11x14 inches (28x35 cm) and comes with 6 minifigures: Gandalf, Frodo, Bilbo, Sam, Pippin, and Merry.

It has a section of path in front of the house and comes with Gandalf's cart to recreate the scene of his arrival. Inside the house, there is a dinning room, pantry, and Bilbo's writing area. The floor is tiled to recreate the wood floor that Bag End has. The doorways and walls are rounded to replicate the original shape. The fireplace in the dining room has a light brick which is activated by a switch behind it. Outside, you can find Bilbo's garden, a small bench, and a letterbox. The hill is nicely slopped and has lots of detailing on it.

I originally built this set for myself to fulfill a longing I had to see a detailed model of Bag End that really did it justice. I decided to put it on the LEGO IDEAS to share it with the community and possibly have it made into an official LEGO set.

I believe that this would be a great set for LEGO to make because it is an iconic location that is instantly recognizable to any fan of the Lord of the Rings or the Hobbit. Also, it would pose an interesting challenge to the designers at LEGO to capture its singular shape.
