This is a vignette of a traditional Korean water mill attached to a house. It features a water ingress, a motorized water mill, a traditional milling shack, and a forest in the background as is ubiquitous in traditional backyards.
It started out as a small inspiration to use the wheels from HP Beauxbatons carriage as a water mill, and evolved into a full-blown vignette.
The model tries to capture the tranquility and serenity of nostalgic rural scenes from any Korean’s childhood memories. I also feel that, short of Sungnyemun from the old architecture line, Korea gets little representation in the LEGO lineup. As the LEGO group expands its inclusiveness (e.g., with the Chinese New Year sets), perhaps Korean subject matter could make beautiful additions.
