Dreaming of the Karakoram Highway

Dreaming of the Karakoram Highway

In my twenties, I made several long cycling journeys through Asia. I cycled thousands of kilometers through China, India, over the Tibetan plateau, in the foothills of the Himalaya...

For a long time, I dreamed of cycling the Karakoram Highway.

The Karakoram Highway (N-35) is a road connecting Pakistan and China. This road is 1300 km long and runs right through the Karakoram Mountains.
The Karakoram Mountain range is rough and monotonous in color, this is in big contrast with the very colorful decorated trucks that drive there. The so-called “jingle trucks”.

My twenties are now far behind me. But every now and then I still dream about cycling the Karakoram Highway.

With this LEGO jingle truck, my dream has become a bit of reality.

I look forward to your responses and any suggestions.
