This is my diorama of the Attack on Tower Gate. Built out of 2706 parts this build consists of a main sizeable round tower connected to the large gate, set at a 45-degree angle. I used a different building technique for each of the three sections. outside the castle walls, a bridge leads over a small river that runs through the whole build. Also included are many trees and two squirrels hiding in the corner. various farm animals are behind the wall: two chickens, a goat, and a pig. The Minifigures I have included are two knights, two archers, a large orc, two orc berserkers, and the orc king.
I have always enjoyed building castles and dioramas, especially playing around with different techniques. So when I finished the large round tower, I knew I had to use it for a new project. at first, I had a straight wall next to the tower, but it just looked too basic, so I messed around with the gate angle until I landed on this final design. Making the gate at an angle also lets me give some curves to the path and the position of the bridge. Having all of these different angles on the build, I think, has led to a much more visually pleasing diorama.
I think that this would make a great set for all ages. For kids, there is conflict with the knights fighting the orcs and a ton of fun little details for them to discover. The same can also be said for older teens and adults; the final diorama comes fully together into a very nice display piece that can be changed in any way the owner wants to display all the characters. The building techniques will impress the builder and hopefully inspire them to use what they learned to create something new.
Thank you for your support! I hope that you enjoyed my build!
