Build. Solve. Enjoy!
I designed this set for my fellow Lego & puzzle enthusiasts. The idea is simple; build 36 individual 8x8 scenes and when you've done them all arrange them in order to form a maze with only one path from start to finish. There's only one rule to follow: each square has two 1x2 sand coloured tiles at their edges that must touch the same piece on an adjacent square to form the path.
With the Modular Maze you get to experience two different ways to play. First the fun of assembling 36 small worlds, sometimes with overlapping stories! Then you get the fun challenge of moving your squares around to create and solve the maze. The build includes a baseplate frame that will hold your squares when the puzzle is complete. The baseplate has a secret message you'll cover with the maze :)
While I've designed only one path that leads all the way from start to finish because the squares have three standard layouts (straight, T-intersection and corners) your solution could look different than your friends.
What will your puzzle look like? Will you have the unfortunate astronaut trying to reach her tool and fix her ship floating beside the little free library? Or will you tiptoe past the raging volcano into the Tunnel of Love? Perhaps you'll peek in on the gentleman enjoying a soak & a glass of wine on your way past the one-eyed sea monster.
Much like the books from our childhood - you'll get to choose your own adventures!
Keep an eye out for small storytelling details, like the mystery of the missing kitty, or the daring daytime robbery of the bank vault!
Maybe you'll make a few 8x8 stories of your own and customize your puzzle to suit your personality. Or you could scramble the maze and invite some friends over to see if they can solve it faster than you did!
I hope you enjoy this build and I genuinely hope you have as much fun building it as I did :)
Cheers,
Bex
PS. I know the photos of the whole maze are out of order; it's done deliberately cuz I can't make things too easy for you!
