What is The Lunar Gateway?
The Lunar Gateway is a next-generation space station that will orbit the Moon, serving as a vital outpost for deep-space exploration. It is a collaborative project led by NASA, with international partners such as ESA, JAXA, and CSA, designed to support long-term human and robotic missions to the lunar surface and beyond. The Gateway will function as a staging point for Artemis astronauts traveling to and from the moon, providing living quarters, research facilities, and docking capabilities for spacecraft like the Orion capsule and future lunar landers. This makes this a perfect follow up set to the NASA Artemis Space Launch System 10341. Construction of the modular components is already underway. The first two modules - the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO) and the Power and Propulsion Element (PPE) - are scheduled for launch in 2027.
The design
This design is a detailed recreation of this futuristic space station, built to inspire both space enthusiasts and LEGO fans. The set features multiple modular components, including the Habitation and Logistics Outpost (HALO), Power and Propulsion Element (PPE), international science labs, docking ports, and robotic arms for satellite deployment and station maintenance. The Orion spacecraft, which is the vehicle that will carry astronauts from Earth to the Gateway is also included in the design. With solar arrays that can be positioned dynamically and a rotating docking node, this model reflects the real station’s adaptability and engineering ingenuity.
Data about the model

Why this model?
The Lunar Gateway is an important step toward sustainable space exploration, and this LEGO set captures that excitement in an interactive and educational way. By building and displaying this model, fans can celebrate humanity’s return to the Moon, understand the complexities of space habitats, and imagine future deep-space missions. The modular design of the set allows builders to reconfigure the station just as real astronauts and engineers will, making it a perfect blend of realism, creativity, and playability. It also serves as a perfect follow up set to the NASA Artemis Space Launch System 10341.
