Introducing 'The Stone' from the classic animated movie, The Secret of NIMH! (The book is called Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH). This necklace is one of the main elements of the story. The back has an inscription, "You can unlock any door, if you only have the key." The storage box is based on the movie as well. This is where Nicodemus keeps 'The Stone' safe.
I built this because it's my favorite childhood movie and I love movie replicas, especially those made from Lego Bricks! I think this would make a great set because of the uniqueness and collectability.
A few notes:
- The golden ring on the box is a rubber band held in place by the hidden plates (w/ rounded corners) projecting the letter.
- The golden ring on the necklace is a rubber band which loops through the open holes of the connected middle plates of the gem frame.
- The 2 circular gem frame plates (with 1 hole each in the center) are held together by a connector peg w/ knob.
- The golden necklace itself consists of 2 strings (w/ 1x1 round knobs attached on each end) for a total of 4 round knobs.
- The gem is a clear red dome.
- The color of the box was challenging. As in many classic cartoons, the colors are not always consistent. I chose this version because it's based on the first appearance of the box and looks the best in my opinion. The box does appear to be old and faded. I attempted the same effect.
