Squirrels are often seen as pests, but when you really think about it, it is pretty amazing how they can leap from tree to tree with such ease. They are such a unique animal, so I thought it would be interesting to take on the challenge of making one out of Lego.
I went back and forth on what position to put the squirrel in and finally decided on the classic: Holding a nut with a fluffy and curvy tail. The tail turned out to be quite tricky. To give the illusion of being fluffy and having a different texture than the rest of the body, I decided to keep the studs showing instead covering them up as I did on the body.
Any Lego fan who has squirrels in their backyard or in the trails near their house will instantly recognize this model and hopefully will be reminded of what an awesome creation they are.
