Douglas DC-3

The Douglas DC-3 was one of the most famous airplanes ever. Introduced in 1936, it is still used to this day. It was produced from 1936-1942 with 607 models built. The DC-3 was much quicker and more efficient than other passenger aircraft at the time. It was able to cross the US in 15hrs with only 3 stops.

The DC-3 could seat up to 32 passengers. It has a wingspan of 95ft 2in (29.0 m) and a length of 64ft 8in (19.7 m). It has a top speed of 230 mph (370 km/h) and a range of 1,580 mi (2540 km).

My model is a 1/64th scale replica. I chose to build it in this size to match the scale of my other airplanes. It has a wingspan of about 18.5 in (47 cm) and a length of about 12.5 in (31.75 cm). It also includes a stand for the plane. It only has 360 pieces making a pretty simple model to build for beginners, but it can also be a fun build for more experienced builders.
