There are 62 species of hornbills in the world. For this build I decided to use the Mindanao Wrinkled Hornbill. I used lots of slopes and plates, as well as Snot [studs not on top] bricks to get the bird-like look. For the diorama I used some transparent blue and white pieces. I built this because I have recently seen the Mufasa movie in theaters and the build slowly turned into this. I have also always not been very good at making brick-built animals, but I like how this one turned out.
Fun facts about the Mindanao Wrinkled Hornbill: Both sexes have orange-red throats and skin around their eyes. The Mindanao Wrinkled Hornbill is endemic to humid forests on the Philippine islands of Mindanao, Dinagat, and Camiguin Sur. I think this would make a great Lego set because Lego does not make very many birds for display.
