Welcome in the active heart of a medieval village with this extremely detailed Windmill & Waterwheel set! There is no medieval village without a mill, a substantial keystone of daily life. Grain, flour and at the end delicious bread are the basic needs of every human being. This model is detailed and combines historical charm and technical features with an interactive play. This model is a must have for everyone who loves history and the medieval era.
I am a huge LEGO fan myself and love the medieval era. Therefore, I have used this inspiration for my own creation of this beautiful build. I realized that LEGO has never introduced a mill like this and I believe this is a nice addition to the medieval collection. My own design has full functionality and provides great storytelling, lots of fun and is a great expansion of everyone’s LEGO collection.
About the Build
This set includes three main parts:
- A detailed windmill with a flowing river to make the millstone turn.
- An outdoor bread oven, where fresh bread is baked for sale on the market.
- A horse-drawn cart, perfect for transporting all goods to the mill and bread to the market.
The Play features
The windmill can be used for various purposes. You can exhibit this model and admire its beauty or you can easily put it next to another LEGO build and use the interactive features to play all day long. The following details are included:

- Ground Floor: Includes a functioning grindstone where wheat grains are crushed into flour.
- Second Floor: A storage room with tools and a few sacks of flour.
- Third Floor: Houses the gear system that transfers the rotary motion from the windmill blades to power the grindstone on the ground floor.
- Interactive Mechanics: The windmill’s blades are connected to the grindstone and waterwheel via a technic axle. Spin the blades or the waterwheel to see the grindstone turn! Even when the top layers of the windmill are removed, the mechanism remains working.
