What It Is:
This is a set of three 1:1 scale butterflies, each with their own attached stand and sign. They are the British Swallowtail (Papilio Machaon Britannicus), the Monarch (Danaus Plexippus) and the Queen Alexandra's Birdwing (Ornithoptera Alexandrae). These are three of the most recognisable and famous butterflies from around the world, and due to the models' small sizes, they would look good on the desk or shelf of anyone interested in nature. Each design has a stand unique to the species' habitat. The Monarch butterfly is displayed on its food, the milkweed plant, and the Birdwing is perched on a jungle branch whilst the Swallowtail is feeding from a butterfly feeder common to UK gardens. The Monarch and Swallowtail come with models of eggs and a caterpillar, respectively.
Why I Built It:
I built these models because I think they would look great on display. They also would help to make even more people aware of these amazing insects.
Number Of Pieces:
In total, the three models have 835 pieces. The Swallowtail has 230 pieces, the Monarch has 290 and the Birdwing 315.
