ABBA Arrival

In 1976 a helicopter arrived with the world famous pop music group ABBA. The helicopter (now at display in ABBA The Museum, Stockholm, Sweden) and the quartet themselves appeared on the cover of their fourth studio album Arrival, which contains megahits like Dancing Queen, Money, Money, Money and Knowing Me, Knowing You. I think this proposed set will be a nice tribute to the most famous Swedish music group ever.

Inspired by the LEGO Ideas set 21306 Beatles Yellow Submarine, I thought a vehicle like a helicopter should be a nice toy or display piece together with the four minifigures Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid. The wind shield is openable and the rotor blades at the top as well as the tail propeller are both possible to rotate with the same crank hidden at the bottom of the helicopter.

Forty-two years after the Arrival, ABBA’s popularity never seems to fade - with Mama Mia! Here We Go Again hitting movie theaters in the summer of 2018, a new ABBA-mania could definitely follow, and what could then be better than having an ABBA LEGO set? With its 325 pieces it should be quite affordable to a big group of fans.

I have also included some photographs for those who prefer plastic. A few details differ from the digital version because of availability of parts/colors/patterns.

So I say: Thank you for the music (and for your support)!
