One of the greatest designs in the history of aircraft, is the Triplane; particularly the Fokker Dr. I Triplane, as made famous by the great Ace Manfred von Richthofen, otherwise known as the Red Barron.
The Dr. I took its first flight in July of 1917. Since then, hundreds of reproduction aircraft have flown around the world at aircraft museums, airshows, and events. The Triplane has now become a vital part of aviation culture and lore, and no LEGO airport hangar would be complete without one (or two, or more)! Now, almost 100 years after the invention of the Dr. I, it is time to let the Triplane take its flight over your LEGO city!
