Architecture - Temple of Artemis

One of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. The Temple at Artemis in Ephesus was completely rebuilt three times before it was finally destroyed by earthquakes and time. A reproduction in Selcuk, Turkey gives us an idea of how the temple most likely looked.

The temple housed the statue of Artemis who was claimed to have fallen from the sky. The statue was a profitable source of income for the coppersmiths in the town who made souvenir replicas for use in amulets, jewelry, and homes.
