Brooklyn Bridge: The Roebling Story

On

We built it again - see the complete bridge!

On June 18th, I rebuilt the Lego Brooklyn Bridge with the kids of Saxonburg PA, the town started by designer John Roebling!

The kids were master builders all, plowing through 2,049 pieces over 2 hours in groups of 2-3!

At the end, we finally got to see the complete bridge by joining my half and the Library's half. So impressive to finally see it all together!

Thanks so much to Michelle of the South Butler Community Library for orchestrating this event and funding the second half. The Roeblings would be proud! :)

Instructions available (for free) on Rebrickable!

According to Lego Ideas' terms (and a very helpful customer service rep), content or information about Lego Ideas projects can be shared outside the platform as long as it is not sold or commercialized. After some much-needed quality checks, I finally completed the instructions and put them online for free! They are split into two separate builds: The Brooklyn Bridge and The Roebling House. If you would like an overview of how these models are made, head over to Rebrickable!
