This is a LEGO model of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. The real monument was built in 1922 to honor Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the United States of America.
The model includes the building, the statue, landscaping, and part of the lake. There are steps leading up to the monument, with trees on either side. There are columns surrounding the building and inside of it. The statue of Lincoln sits on a chair inside the building. Across from the building is part of the Reflecting Pool, with trees along each side of it as well. The building is lit with luminous bricks, which could easily be changed to light bricks or Powered Up lights.
I built this set because I’ve always thought the Lincoln Memorial would be a neat set to build and display. Although I’ve never visited it, I have seen it from a distance, and thought it was really neat, especially the statue. This is also my first micro build, which made it more interesting to build. I hope you like it!
