Toronto Skyline (Rogers Centre/Cn Tower)

Overview:
A small-scale kit depicting the Rogers Centre, the CN Tower, and Ripley's Aquarium, among smaller details. It comes as a 162-piece set, with interesting building techniques that keep builders engaged but keep the set accessible for all.

Motivation:
I designed and built this set as a tribute to what I think is one of the coolest stretches of my home city, and an iconic LEGO look at iconic Canadian buildings, like the CN Tower or the Rogers Centre, home of the Toronto Blue Jays. I tried to capture the interesting architecture on a microscale, using small bricks and tiles to portray key elements of Bremner Boulevard and its accompanying buildings. Personally, I just wanted to capture the memorable places and sights I loved visiting as a kid and still do today, and I hope others enjoy my portrayal of Toronto, or as we say, "Tronno".

Features/Details:

  • Iconic CN Tower
  • Rogers Centre, complete with "The Audience" sculptures on the rear, and the Marriott City Centre hotel, as well as adjoined stairways with planter detail
  • Ted Rogers statue in front of the Rogers Centre
  • "Salmon Run" fountain and surrounding trees
  • GO Train situated across the street where the Roundhouse Turntable is
  • Ripley's Aquarium, complete with interesting roof design, and glass facade
  • "YYZ" faceplate, referencing the Pearson International Airport code for Toronto
