Here is the VOICE expansion set for the new LEGO Mindstorms education ADVANCED robot kit.

This very special set is named in honor of ALEX (Avian Learning EXperiment), the famous African Gray Parrot which has been studied for more than 30 years and who proved that birds can reason in an elementary way and use several words cleverly. He’s been the first non-human in history to ask a question: he wanted to know what color he was.

Now, it's your turn to teach everything to ALEX2 in a speed up way thanks to the Curriculum materials developed by the LEGO education team in collaboration with some of the most prestigious universities in the world.

With the high computing power of the LEGO Mindstorms ADVANCED intelligent brick, you will step into the world of artificial intelligence in the most fun and interesting way that can be.

The provided program and the new 4-microphone array Omnidirectional Sensor will enable ALEX2 to imitate, in his own way, sentences, keywords, songs and sounds that he can hear or that you can directly teach to him. In combinaison with the Vision Sensor from the base kit, he will also be able to make face and object recognition to generate associations and build datasets based on vocal interactions.

To complete the build, a fluid motricity component is added:

1 medium motor to walk back and forth;
1 medium motor to walk sideways and turn;
1 large motor to lower or raise the body and flap wings;
1 small motor to rotate the neck;
1 micro motor to open and close the beak (when talking or friendly biting).

With ALEX2, grade 11-12 students around the world will have the opportunity to interact with a dynamic environment to learn the basics of machine learning, deep learning and algorithms. These elements are already part of our daily life, mastering them is your passport to the future.
