ABOUT YOURSELF

  1. Who are you?
    Aurélien F aka Airbricks

  2. Where are you from?
I am French and I live in the Paris region.

  3. How old are you?
    I'm 35 years old.

  4. What do you study or do for a living?
I am currently a point of sale manager in the restaurant industry.

  5. What hobbies do you have?
I really like certain sporting activities like archery or hiking but above all, I like to escape into creations.

  6. Do you have a personal LEGO portfolio website that you can share with us?
    Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/airbricks95/

  7. Have you created any LEGO MOCs (my own creations) that you’re particularly proud of? What is it, why are you proud of it and do you have a photo of it?
I have quite a few creations that I am quite proud of, I already have Jumanji which is currently being reviewed.

  8. How and when did your interest in LEGO products come about?
Since I was very young I have been building Lego after I think I was in my thirties and I bought Lego again but I am during Covid I started to create my Mocs and I immediately found inspiration. For me, it is a way of expressing creativity.

  9. What is the LEGO hobby to you? What does it mean to you? How does it fit in your life? E.g. build, display, meetups, play the games or 'just' watch the cartoons.
Today we can say that the lego universe is part of my life, more than a hobby. I hope it continues for a long time and creates new things, it allows me to express an art above all and the infinite possibilities that Lego offers are just great, I even created a space dedicated to the brand and construction in my garage.

  10. What is your favourite LEGO theme (current or past)? Why? And has any theme inspired your building style or preference in any particular way?
My favorite lego sets are the Ninjago theme and Monkie Kid because I find them very artistic and imaginary.

  11. What is your favourite official LEGO set ever? Why?
Very difficult to choose or even impossible because there are so many magnificent sets to build!

  12. What is your favourite LEGO element? Why?
Each piece can make a difference so I'm not really in preference, I just have to visualize a piece in order to know what I could do with it.

  13. Is there a LEGO designer (official LEGO designer or fan designer) who you are inspired by and look up to? Who and why?
First of all, I will support my French compatriots with Let's Go (Thomas), he was lucky enough to be selected with the Orient Express, he is really very creative and impressive, and Castor-Troy who makes beautiful creations, I love it.

  14. Is there one or more particular LEGO-related websites (not official LEGO websites) that you visit often and/or are inspired by?
I look a lot on Instagram or Facebook pages to find inspiration.

ABOUT YOUR PROJECT

  1. Where did your interest in this particular model come from?
Quite simply, I was inspired by a Tesla center I started by building the logo and the rest followed.

  2. How long was the process of making the project, and what did you have to research as well? What kind of prep, research and design phases did you go through to produce your creation?
That I remember well. It took me 2 weeks, then I resumed some other moc creation that I had already made like the solar panel on the roof and the exterior lights then for the vehicles I did some research in order to be as faithful as possible to the model offered by the brand.

  3. What special challenges did you face creating the model? What was the most difficult part to recreate?
The vehicles were the most complex to create because I had to be as faithful as possible.

  4. How long did it take to complete the model? Did you finish it fairly quickly, or did it take a long time? And how did the build time compare to the time you spent promoting your Product Idea to reach 10,000 supporters?
It seems to me that it took around 250 days to reach 10K. I also had a lot of support from Tesla owners.

  5. How did it feel when you reached the magic 10,000 votes and how long did it take?
Having already had a project that has obtained the symbolic 10k mark, I didn't really realize that this was a 2nd achievement for me! Just amazing to have the opportunity to have a 2nd project reviewed.

  6. Approximately how many LEGO bricks did you use to create your model?
    2367 elements.

  7. If you built your model digitally, what software did you use to build and render your model?
I started with LLD to get started. Then I quickly moved on to Bricklink Studio, there's really everything even though it took me a while to get the hang of this software, it's really complete.

ABOUT LEGO IDEAS

  1. Do you have any useful advice about creating a successful LEGO Ideas project?
Like a painter who paints a work of art if you look closely around you you will find inspiration.

  2. What (if any) methods did you use to advertise and attract support to your Product Idea?
I use Instagram a lot and share it on LEGO fan groups on Facebook and I had a lot of help from YouTubers or people who follow me on Instagram.

  3. What is your favourite LEGO Ideas Product Idea (besides your own of course)?
I really like Friend's Central Perk and the Globe.

  4. What is it about the platform that attracts you? What tips would you give to anyone who is thinking about uploading an idea?
What attracts me to the platform is to be able to propose projects so that one day it may contribute to the LEGO Ideas range, it must be an honor to appear on a box. There is also the challenge side which allows you to see the evolution of its creation see if it pleases or not in order to reach 10,000 supporters. My advice to giveis: I would say to make sure that the main photo is good, in order to put the project forward well.

  5. Do you have plans to submit any other Product Ideas in the future? If yes, can you give us a hint what that might be?
Indeed I have a lot of other ideas but for that I still have to implement them after I work on a project of the French artisan bakery type.
