The Citroën Mehari Azur :
The Citroën Mehari Azur is much more than just a car. It is the symbol of an era that evokes memories of carefree holidays.
The Mehari was born in 1968, designed to be a light and versatile utility vehicle. Its atypical design, with its ABS plastic body (the same material used for Lego bricks), sets it apart from other vehicles of the time and makes it particularly suitable for use at the seaside, since it is resistant to water and salt. The removable top allows the Mehari to be transformed into a real convertible in a few seconds.
It was in 1983 that Citroën launched the Azur version, a limited series that stands out with its two-tone white and blue look, as well as specific equipment, making it a model particularly appreciated by collectors.
My project :
The idea of building a Citroën Mehari with Lego came to me because my father has had one for a long time. I have always known it, from the first car rides in the countryside to finally driving it myself. So I built a red model with a black roof, like the one he has, to give him as a gift.
I then decided to create an Azur model based on this prototype. I reproduced the typical colors and decorations of this model. The tailgate can be opened and the rear seat is retractable. I also included a removable hood that lets you see the details of the engine.
I accompanied the car with a surfer and her friend as well as deckchairs because this car is typically associated with the beach and the seaside. You can place the minifigures inside to play with or simply display it.
