Welcome Lego fans!
Would you like to take home one of the world's cutest, most adorable animals with a little twist? Then look no further than the Lego Koala! This model features a sitting koala with many different accessories. You can display your koala as it would be in nature, with no accessories, showing off its natural cuteness. Alternatively, you can spice things up and dip into the Koala's adventurous side. You can have the Koala relaxing on the beach with its shades, sipping its delicious coconut drink, or you can have the Koala slaying dragons as a powerful wizard. Or you could mix and match and have a wizard koala wearing sunglasses. You get to decide!
Model Details:
This model was designed for display. I made it from scratch with physical Lego bricks (no Studio here). I looked at many pictures of real koalas to try to get the model to be as accurate as possible to the real animal. The build features some complex building techniques to try to capture the natural look and shape of the Koala. For all Lego enthusiasts, the build is almost entirely made using the S.N.O.T. (Studs Not On Top) technique. The head spins 360 degrees (It does not move up and down; in my opinion that would have detracted too much from the Koala's realistic appearance.), and the forearms, fingers/toes, and feet move, so you can pose the Koala how you would like.
Model Dimensions:
- 6in wide (measuring from ears)
- 4.5in deep
- 7in tall (9.5in tall with wizard hat on)
Why Did I Build this Koala?
Originally, I made this Koala as a gift for someone special. However, after I finished building it, I thought it was too cute not to have one for myself, so 2 Koalas were born. On top of that, someone else loved the Koala so much that I made one as a gift for them too, and now there are 3. I created accessories for each Koala to differentiate them and make each one unique. Who wouldn't want a wizard koala or a koala wearing sunglasses? This Koala will make a fantastic Lego set because of its accuracy to the real, absolutely adorable animal. Plus, it appeals to many different people with its variety of accessories. It offers a way for everyone to customize their Koala.
