The Good Place - Eleanor's House

Welcome to the Good Place, everything is fine!

The moment I saw this house in the very first episode it reminded me of classic Lego homes of old. With it's sharp lines, minimalistic style and bright primary colours it was practically destined to be a Lego set!

The Story (spoilers ahead!!)

The Good Place is a show that takes place in the afterlife. Four main characters arrive in what they are told is the Good Place for people who were "good" during their lifetime; only to eventually discover they're actually in the Bad Place being tortured. Things that had been presented to them as positives - endless frozen yogurt, flying lessons and soulmates - all turn out to be the Machiavellian machinations of a demon
testing out innovative new methods of torture.

Case in point - Eleanor's house; a building that was presented as a utopian residence but in reality was designed to be a source of constant irritation for Eleanor.

The Build:

I've kept the exterior of the building relatively simple as it's based on a very sparse style of architecture. On the inside I've included details from some of my favourite episodes, namely;

  • Chidi teaching his fellow members of Team Cockroach about the Trolley Problem
  • Eleanor's prized endless shrimp vending machine
  • The tricky hidden stairs to the bedroom (which actually fully retract into the wall)
  • And of course, a creepy gallery of clown paintings (cue the full body shivers!)

The Minifigures:

This set would come with 8 minifigures:

  • Two residents of the Good Place - dressed in their crazy pjs after Eleanor 'wrecks' the Good Place
  • Eleanor - holding her favourite food
  • Chidi - holding a book, naturally
  • Jason - holding a frozen yogurt even though they give him intense digestive issues
  • Janet - holding a cactus from the time she was glitching and could only give out cactus plants
  • Micheal - holding the car keys the gang gifted him as an 'honorary human'
  • Tahani - being radiant and holding the biggest diamond in the universe

Bonus detail:

I've included a Japanese meditation garden because even though it wasn't in the show I feel like it would have been the perfect thing they could have included because it would have driven Eleanor absolutely nuts!

I hope you like my version of the Good Place because I went Maximum Derek on this one :)

Cheers,
