Since the beginning of LEGO City, different types of vehicles and construction machineries have appeared in different sizes and forms. We had trucks, diggers, excavators, cranes and cement mixers. A few years ago it was released even a drum roller. Time has passed and many other types of machineries got upgrades or new versions. Now I have the honour to introduce you a new vehicle that can be part of the City Series: Paving Roller!
For the first time ever it's not only a digital model, I could also construct it with real bricks. My first thought was to use some wheels with smaller diameter (around 40-43 mm), but since none of those available have a flat profile I've adapted the model with some bigger wheels (diameter 56 mm) in order to make it as realistic as possible. And the part that I like most: this roller can work perfectly with the paving machine that I also created 😁
When it comes to the structure, this roller has following properties:
- 238 bricks, including the operator
- two bigger components: the cab and the 2 rollers that are connected with a flexible element
Since the number of bricks is quite small, a real assembley would not require very advanced skills and of course the price for this set wold be a decent one. I spent some time when I first built it, but with schematics it shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes. The model is designed with as many moving elements as possible to make it more playable. I tried my best when it comes to recreating a real paving roller and I hope that you will like this as much as I do 😁😁
