Maelstrom!

Our ship sets sail. All is calm. Suddenly, up goes the cry: "Maelstrom! Maelstrom, port side!" The grinding waters have already swallowed up one vessel. One hapless sailor clings to an oar, unable to swim out of the whirlpool. There is no escape for our ship either. The current is too strong, pulling us in! We pick up speed. What awaits us beneath the turbulent waves? The ultimate excitement!

The Maelstrom add-on to Pirate Roller Coaster 31084 adds a propulsion mechanism to launch the coaster over the first hill, and the spectacular whirlpool build. The whirlpool rotates in the direction of travel, perfectly integration the propulsion mechanism into the theme and story of the ride. Didn't you wonder how that shipwreck happened?

The only change to the official build needed to integrate the Maelstrom add-on is the removal of the two dark grey 1x1 round plates beside the pylon. The gear housings have studs facing out, providing further opportunity for theming and customisation.
