The Iron Giant

The Iron Giant was one of my favorite films to watch growing up. The brilliant story, captivating allegory, and funny scenes have kept this movie on my list of favorites. With that in mind, I sought to recreate as many of the details and scenes as I could within the scope of the project and timeline. On top of the detailed and realistic Giant, the set includes a car, superman symbol, Hogarth, and Dean.

There are several sophisticated building techniques in this model to capture all of the unique angles of the Iron Giant. The various joints allow for a large array of pose-ability to recreate several different scenes from the movie as well.

Given the design of the Iron Giant, the model is very top heavy and it is unrealistic that the joints currently built would withstand the weight of the model. With keeping the accurate scale and details of the model in place, I suggest the joints could either be further reworked or a brick built stand could be made to support the model.
