Princess Mononoke – Iron Town

Iron Town (タタラ場)is one of the primary settings of Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke (もののけ姫), playing a key role in the events and themes. It depicts the wonders of engineering, and the beauty of human society while raising the question of caring for the beautiful nature that nourishes them.

 

The main building is the Tatara, a building with a traditional Japanese furnace for melting iron inside (complete with a light brick!). On the lower level, there are the living quarters with Tatami.

I have included minifigures for Ashitaka, San, and Lady Eboshi. While I lacked the skills needed to make them, an inclusion of Moro the white Wolf and a Yakul would also be nice. There is also a Kodama hidden by the tree on the side.

 

I believe this is a movie with a long-lasting fan base, with fans all around the world.
