Inspired by the launch of the new LEGO® House Exclusive set, 40506 LEGO Fabuland® Tribute, we're encouraging you to step into the wonders of storytelling and build your own narrative - and to get the chance to win a signed copy of this exclusive set for yourself!
The launch of LEGO Fabuland Tribute has made us reflect on how much we all love and enjoy storytelling. Let’s face it, we all have our favourite memorable tales and narrative moments. Building and creating with bricks is heavily linked to creating narratives and unseen storylines. It's those stories that capture imagination, stir emotions and tap into your own passion, especially when you have created them yourself.
It’s fair to say the best stories stay with us forever because, they may resonate our own experiences or capture our fantasy visions. Whatever the reason, the right story triggers an emotive response. That’s why we have decided that our next challenge is all about recreating that feeling.
What does your brick-story look like?
Now is your chance to tell your own unique story through the creative medium of LEGO bricks. We’ve all imagined exciting plots and unforgettable twists in our heads. Perhaps your good guy is not the usual hero, or perhaps there’s an evil plan that is revealed in a surprising way! Whatever unique narrative your imagination may have created, we want to see it come to life in brick-form. So dig deep, think of those stories that are truly yours and get recreating that scene in your very own brick design.
The world of storytelling is such a rich destination, it’s now time for you to share your vision and story-packed world with your brick-builds, reveal that key scene, the epic moment or simply introduce us to your characters. We can’t wait to see your what you have instore, maybe your story ends on a cliffhanger…

What is Fabuland?
Fabuland was renowned among LEGO fans for its story-driven approach. Launched in 1979, this was the first LEGO theme to feature licensed products such as storybooks, playing cards, clothing and even an animated TV series, on top of its own line of sets. Its colourful storybook style world was populated by a range of animal characters that were full of charm and personality. They were integral to the storytelling and layers within the theme, from Lionel Lion and Freddy Fox to Bonnie Bunny and Edward Elephant they all were great play starters.
You made the story! You could build, set the scene, direct and reimagine time after time. All the figures had moulded animal heads with legs and arms that had a motion like that of current LEGO minifigures. However, these figures were slightly chunkier and scale-wise sat somewhere between DUPLO® figure scale and minifigures. The theme formed a bridge between DUPLO and system and ran for a whole decade, releasing 99 retail sets in that time, rooting itself in the halls of fame as a groundbreaking theme that many collectors still hold dear to their heart.
This iconic status was why the LEGO House team chose Fabuland to be the sixth in the series of LEGO House Special Edition sets. A theme that made history for combining the creativity of the LEGO brick with elements of creative storytelling for the very first time. The exclusive LEGO House set was designed by LEGO House Master Builder, Stuart Harris, and LEGO Senior Designer, Markus Rollbühler. Collaborating with Signe Weise, Corporate Historian at LEGO Idea House, the new set pays homage to the beloved characters Edward Elephant, Joe Crow, Dr Lucy Lamb and Clive Crocodile from the original 1980’s product line, re-imagined in line with modern LEGO design principles.
