We're bringing LEGO® Ideas Test Lab back for another exceptional round of creativity in collaboration with Pick a Brick and we're thrilled to welcome you to participate!
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure, you have between 150 - 200 elements to create customizable display stands to show off your Minifigures using a select BrickLink Studio palette.
These display stands must:
- Be between 150 and 200 elements.
- Feature some customization. But the elements to customize must be included in your submission.
- Display at least 4 Minifigures.
- Work to display both Minifigures and Minidolls.
You can learn all the other rules and guidelines on the LEGO Ideas Test Lab page.
What's LEGO Ideas Test Lab?
LEGO Ideas Test Lab is an experimental platform, first introduced in 2017, and re-introduced in 2022, through which we will test new features, functionality, designs and experiences destined for LEGO Ideas.
Who can participate?
The challenge will be open to members aged 18 and above, while due to legal reasons, will not be open to residents of some countries. If you are eligible to participate you will be able to access the Test Lab platform.
How will this challenge work?
You'll already be able to view the BrickLink Studio palette and start your build today! However, you'll first be able to submit your creations from the 9th of May and onwards until the 23rd of May, 2023.
A crowd vote held between the 25th of May and the 8th of June, will also help our judging team understand the desires of the community when they get to work on the 8th of June.
What if my design is selected?
The selected submissions will be available to purchase directly through the Pick and Build hub on LEGO.com!
Users whose submission is selected will receive $1,500 USD (before tax).
In fact, you can check out the selected designs from the first Pick a Brick pilot challenge. These designs have just become available for purchase through the Pick a Brick Hub.
By default, the nickname that will be displayed on LEGO Ideas Test Lab will be either your default auto-generated LEGO Account nickname (i.e. ArtisticRug090) or, if you have recently updated to the new LEGO Account nickname, then you should see this customized and compliant nickname that you've selected. Your LEGO Ideas username will not be shown on Test Lab unless you have updated to the new LEGO Account nickname.
Should you wish to edit your nickname on LEGO Ideas Test Lab you are welcome to do so by making this change in your LEGO Account, which is also accessible via your profile on LEGO Ideas Test Lab. Please note that this updated nickname will be used across LEGO experiences, such as on the regular LEGO Ideas platform.
