It’s Finally Here! Let’s Explore LEGO® Ideas | Magic of Disney (21352)!

We all have our favorite Disney films, don’t we? From the many long-loved characters to the scenes that made you laugh, cry or fill you with warmth. But imagine trying to capture them all in a single LEGO build... impossible, right? Not according to one fan designer, whose dreams came true when she submitted her design into our Disney-themed ‘100 Years of Fairytales’ challenge on LEGO Ideas!

The challenge asked fans to craft a build showing what Disney meant to them in 50-800 LEGO elements. Builder Anna (aka 2A2A), leapt at the challenge and came up with the idea of creating an eye-catching Mickey Mouse centerpiece, surrounded by charming vignettes of her favorite Disney animated scenes.

Thanks  to a successful fan vote, and a big thumbs up from our panel of LEGO Ideas judges, Anna’s design has now been made into a real-life set, out now! Let’s dig a little more into the details of this spellbinding new edition to the LEGO | Disney range...

Model making

Anna decided to create a large open-armed Mickey Mouse robed as the sorcerer’s apprentice from Fantasia as the central focal point. Framing some of her favorite Disney scenes, characters and references around this focal point...

“It was really difficult to pick a favorite story that summarizes 100 years of magic!”, Anna said.

Working with the LEGO in-house designers, Anna brought her concept and arrangement to life, resulting in seven enchanting scenes from the history of Disney animated movies that hold a special place in her heart; Belle and her enchanted rose (the first EVER Minifigure of Belle!), Geppetto on a raft in Pinocchio, Lilo surfing in Lilo & Stitch, Simba atop Pride Rock in The Lion King, Sebastian the crab and Flounder the fish in The Little Mermaid plus Bruno at Madrigal House in Encanto and the magic Brooms carrying water in Fantasia.

The set also includes some exciting additional details and movie references, like a miniature paintbrush for Geppetto, Lilo’s surfboard, and pink hibiscus flower in her hair, a cracked green tile depicting Bruno’s vision, and one of his little rodent companions. Cute!

Magic moments

We think you’ll agree, Disney fans are in for a treat with this nostalgic set, which is now available to own! The challenge rules limited Anna’s original design to 800 pieces, but to fully capture all the magic, the final set ended up over 1,000 (1,103, to be precise), making it a real celebration!  At over 10.5 in. (27 cm) wide, it makes a brilliant project piece for anyone who wants to relive the Disney magic of their childhood, and will make a characterful showpiece, perfect for display in your home afterwards.

The variety of scenes and iconic Disney characters included make this a varied, creative and surprising build, with something for everyone!

“I hope this model can show the many classics through time and offer a truly magical scene for both Disney fans and LEGO fans alike”, Anna added.

Anyone else giddy as a schoolkid to get their hands on this magical set? Well, it’s available now.
