The Living Van Redesigned

As the appearance of the living van was plain compared to the Showman's Engine, I looked at a couple more photos of preserved living vans, and improved upon my design. It now takes more inspiration from later, 1930ies-style trailers, that sometimes resemble railroad cars. Check the curved corners, and the added red decorative lining. I kept the spoked wheels, but added tracks for rims like the traction engine has. The under-floor cabinet is now bigger, and the doors can be opened. I added a detailed ladder, too, instead of the clumsy-looking Technic contraption before. How do you like it?

A Smaller Cylinder Design

The cylinder part I used with my steam traction engines is really too big for the size of the models. Employing the new part 68013, I have come up with a different solution. It still allows for the piston rod to move, and is a much better match for the scale of the Showman's Engine. Of course, I have improved upon the steam chest as well. There even was enough room to add a mechanical lubricator, which is driven from the sliding valve rod.
