This Inkwell and Quill set honors William Shakespeare (1564-1616). Shakespeare’s plays have been translated into every major language, are performed more often than those of any other playwright, and have been the foundation of many modern films.
This build features a classic quill and inkwell set, accompanied by a Shakespeare mini fig holding his own quill and the Complete Works of William Shakespeare, of course!
Inside the inkwell is a rotating carousel of miniature scenes bringing four legendary plays to life:
- Romeo and Juliet – the iconic balcony scene of star-crossed lovers
- Macbeth – the three witches foretelling Macbeth’s fate
- A Midsummer Night’s Dream – the whimsical mischief of Puck and enchanted lovers
- Hamlet – the Prince of Denmark, finding Yorick’s skull and being haunted by his father's ghost
The back of the inkwell door reveals a miniature library, a tribute to the enduring literary legacy of the Bard.
