The Historic Train: Pere Marquette 1225 Steam Locomotive

The Pere Marquette 1225 is a historic locomotive that has been featured in novels and movies, aside from rail museums. This hand-built Lego model of the Pere Marquette has several eye-catching features. The surrounding area is a snowy scene (Brr!), but despite the cold, numerous wild animals have taken up residence in the woods, including a deer and a cardinal! The frozen pond and lone stretch of fence contribute to a lovely atmosphere!

I built this because a train this amazing and famous deserves to be appreciated as a Lego build! This would be an amazing set because of the unique methods used in the build, from the rounded engine, to the snowy trees. It would appeal to Lego collectors, and train fans alike! The goal throughout the process was to create an accurate model that stayed true to the historic details that are seen on the locomotive in real life, everything from the bell on the front, to the coal in the tender.
