Adventurers: The Temple of Poseidon

Join Johnny Thunder on his latest exciting adventure!

My new submission brings back famed explorer, Johnny Thunder, in a brand new expedition that takes him to the islands of the Aegean. This time around he and his friends are in search of the fabled Trident of Poseidon, rumored to be made of solid gold! But beware, for danger lurks around every turn -- unscrupulous cutthroats are also after the trident, and they'll stop at nothing to get it first.

This model features a temple of Poseidon, built on a tiny island where the trident is hidden. The island can be opened, and the temple removed to access a secret cave below. The roof of the temple can also be removed. I have included a small fishing boat and a pontoon plane.

And of course no adventure is complete without a few creepy-crawlies. There are rats, bats, spiders, pigeons, seagulls, crabs, and a crocodile (watch out!)

Dimensions

The island measures 10 in. wide, by 20 in. long, by 11 in. tall. (25.5 x 51 x 28 cm).
The pontoon plane measures 7.5 in. wide, by 7 in. long (19 x 17.5 cm).

The Characters

The proposal features an assortment of dashing heroes, cunning cutthroats, and other colorful characters. We have:
  • Johnny Thunder -- everyone's favorite globe trotting archeologist who isn't named after a dog.
  • Pippin Reed -- The star reporter, also known by her pen name Gail Storm.
  • Dr. Kilroy -- Johnny Thunder's uncle and mentor.
  • Flying ace Harry Cane -- The best bush pilot this side of the Atlantic.
  • Lord Sinister Sam -- Johnny Thunder's rival and archenemy.
  • Doug Cunningham: One of Sam's nefarious henchmen.
  • Dr. Papadopoulos -- Curator of the Acropolis Museum in Athens. He recruited Johnny Thunder to help find the Trident, so he could put it in his museum.
  • Little Niki -- A street smart orphan who hangs around Dr. Papadopoulos' museum.

Hidden Secrets!

I packed in as many secret doors and booby traps as I could.
  • Swing open the model to access the hidden cave beneath the temple.
  • Turn the courtyard statue to open the secret passage.
  • Activate a trapdoor in the temple by turning the fake trident held by the statue.
  • Knock intruders into the crocodile pit with the swinging spikes.
  • Turn the key to reveal the golden trident.
  • Uncover hidden gems behind the temple and in the roof.

I love the Adventurers theme, and would really like to have seen Johnny Thunder and the gang travel to even more exotic locations. This proposal gave me an opportunity to realize that. It was a lot of fun to design and I hope you support it! Thank you!
