Welcome to my first Lego Ideas submission!
Hunter x Hunter is a still ongoing Japanese manga series written and illustrated by the legendary Yoshihiro Togashi. It started in 1998 and is still going on, during this time it received two anime adaptations. One was in 1999, and another was in 2011, with the latter being the most popular way to get familiar with the series. The story follows a young boy named Gon Freecss, who becomes determined to follow in his father's footsteps after finding out that his father is a legendary Hunter. He meets numerous friends, allies, and enemies along the way, so I've tried to pick out the most major characters from the story with one important item to them.
The figures and their accessories are as follows:
- Leorio Paradinight - Suitcase
- Kurapika - Judgement chain
- Killua Zoldyck - Skateboard
- Gon Freecss - Jajanken effect, a Backpack, Fishing rod
- Hisoka Morow - Bungee gum effect, Joker card
- Chrollo Lucilfer - Skill Hunter
Just a quick disclaimer: During the making of this set I have only used already available in the designer program to create this set, but if this idea gets turned into a real set, all the minifigures will have detailed custom prints.
As for the build, I've complimented many locations, but I concluded that this would be the most optimal for a minifigure-focused set.
The Heavens Arena story arc is the second in the series and introduces Nen. Although not a fan favorite, the time spent there is still enjoyable. And let's not forget Hisokas and Chrollos' legendary match there later in the story.
With around 750 pieces, this is a decently sized model that mainly just acts as a display stand for the 8 figures. The main build is a part of the arena with spectators in the background. There are also optional reflector flash effects. The background and foreground are separable. There are also openable compartments on the side of the arena where you can store the different items.
As a fan of the series, I can't put into words how much I love, and enjoy this world and its characters, so I think it would be cool if this would be the first Lego set based on a manga/anime. I would greatly appreciate it if you would support this project, and leave some constructive criticisms in the comments.
