A Video is there!
I've created a video of the model. You will see that even the water pump is crafted from 100% pure natural Lego!
Enjoy,

Choices of Livery
The colour scheme that I first chose for my model reflects the standard of the 1930ies, at least in Germany, and was found on a number of prototypes I looked at during research. However, the model lends itself to different choices of livery as well.
Here's a render of four realistic combinations, with the original design in the upper right:
The blue and white design would be used by the Technisches Hilfswerk, which is a federal civil engineering brigade that aids in natural desasters and humanitarian emergencies.
The lower left, red and white design is a more modern fire brigade livery, which makes the vehicle look at least twenty years younger. This would likely be the most recognizable outfit for most parts of the world.
Finally the unusual dark green livery at the lower right was typical for the Feuerschutzpolizei (fire police), and was only used in the 1940ies.
While red is likely to be most people's favourite colour for a fire truck, I invite you to let me know your personal favourite. Or maybe there is yet another livery you would like to see? Please let me know in the comments!
Yours,
Mr_Kleinstein
