The humble Stabbur, is one of the most recognizable buildings on the traditional Norwegian farm. It has been a staple of the farm since the middle ages!
Standing on tall poles, to keep rodents and moisture out, it has a silhouette I believe would make an amazing LEGO build!
The building is a store house made to keep the farms food safe and dry: The first floor contains dried meats, cheese, bread and butter, while the second floor contains flour and grain.
The roof is covered in grass, called a sod roof. Excellent at keeping the heat inside, though needs a lot of maintenance!
The building is one of the most treasured buildings, and one of the few that would have been given a lock! The key is traditionally carried by the housewife as a big status symbol!
