        <div><em>“How many years has it taken people to realize that we are all brothers and sisters and human beings in the human race?”</em></div><div><em>(A brave Drag Queen)</em></div><div class="ql-align-justify"><br></div><div><strong>1) WHAT IS IT?</strong></div><div><strong>&nbsp;</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">This is a LEGO brick representation of the Stonewall National Monument as it appears today, one year before its 10th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2026.</span></div><div><span style="color: black;">Stonewall National Monument is a U.S.A. monument in New York City. The area officially includes the Stonewall Inn, Christopher Park, and nearby streets including Christopher Street </span>(places that commemorate the historical rilevance of equality and inclusivity for LGBTQIA+ people). They were designated as a National Monument in 2016.</div><div><span style="color: black;">&nbsp;</span></div><div><strong>Description of the work</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">This work is a tribute to those places and values</span>, and with its approximately 3,750 pieces, it<span style="color: black;"> represents:</span></div><ul><li>the Stonewall Inn, the building that still today houses a bar bearing the name of the original;</li><li>Christopher Street, a vibrant street filled with significance;</li><li>Christopher Park, the park that now provides a space of relaxation for visitors, and the Gay Liberation sculpture by artist George Segal;</li><li>the building at 59 Christopher Street, which once housed an association that firmly believed in the value of equality for homosexual people. In my work, the building now includes a bar, the apartment of a transgender woman who is passionate about LEGO, and the office of an LGBTQIA+ helpline.</li></ul><div><strong>People you’ll find</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">The set includes 13 minifigures, which </span>I would like to represent<span style="color: black;"> various LGBTQIA+ people:</span></div><ul><li><strong>L:</strong> A couple of women walking with their baby.</li><li><strong>G:</strong> A couple of men during a marriage proposal (Todd &amp; Ryan, from my previous work <em>Handcrafted Houseboat</em>, available on this website if you’d like to read their love story!).</li><li> <strong>B:</strong> An African American counselor working for an LGBTQIA+ helpline.</li><li> <strong>T:</strong> A transgender woman, an AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO) in her apartment filled with LEGO bricks!</li><li> <strong>Q:</strong> A queer man on a date with a basketball player.</li><li> <strong>I :</strong> An African American man who is visiting the Stonewall National Monument with his partner (<strong>H</strong>) and their child.</li><li> <strong>A:</strong> A bartender at work.</li><li> <strong>+:</strong> A non-binary Drag Queen, performing on stage!</li></ul><div>If you’d like to learn more about this project, follow the updates in the dedicated section of this page.</div><div><br></div><div><strong>2) WHY DID YOU BUILD IT?</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">&nbsp;</span></div><div><span style="color: black;">As an amateur artist, I use LEGO bricks to create mostly minifigure-scale artworks, set in an imaginary world of peace, love, respect, and LGBTQIA+ representation (click on the name “Feacebricks” in this page to see my bio and links). The Stonewall National Monument in bricks is the definitive celebration of diversity and equality, </span>a vibrant symbol of inclusivity and acceptance, set in the present day.</div><div><strong>&nbsp;</strong></div><div><strong>3) WHY DO YOU BELIEVE THIS WOULD MAKE A GREAT LEGO SET?</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">&nbsp;</span></div><div><strong>An iconic place</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">Representing this </span>iconic place<span style="color: black;"> with a LEGO set is a opportunity to combine creativity, play, and education, while also telling the everyday lifes of LGBTQIA+ people, and sharing stories that inspires people around the world.</span></div><div><span style="color: black;">The model includes </span>faithful details<span style="color: black;">, such as the facade of the Stonewall Inn with its iconic windows (and two customisable flags), Christopher Street with its rainbow-colored pedestrian crosswalks and its brown street sign, Christopher Park with its symbolic sculptures and the fence with signs displaying commemorative dates, offering builders</span> a journey through history and a celebration of diversity.</div><div><span style="color: black;">&nbsp;</span></div><div class="ql-align-justify"><strong>Values for a better world</strong></div><div><span style="color: black;">A LEGO set dedicated to the Stonewall National Monument would </span>promote universal values<span style="color: black;"> such as inclusivity, respect, and love for diversity, aligning with LEGO's mission to build a better world. It would be a valuable addition to the LEGO Ideas range, attracting not only bricks enthusiasts but also those who wish to express human values through art with a cheerful and colourful design.</span></div><div class="ql-align-justify"><span style="color: black;">I imagine this set displayed in homes and offices, </span>sparking meaningful conversations and spreading a colourful yet profound message about acceptance and equality<span style="color: black;">.
