Visitors at the Ranch

This build "Visitors at the ranch" consists of a Ranch build, a crop circle build. As well as two vehicle builds: A police car, and a ufo. This measures to 1840 pieces including 4 minifigs: An old farmer, an agent, an officer and an alien (glow in the dark head and hands).

Wanting to create a lego set that pays homage to the classic 80s alien/ufo mystery trope, I made this mysterious ranch with a couple visitors, both in form of the police and a unidentifiable flying object. Fans of this trope exists across the world and amongst all generations, young and old. I wanted to make an eerie, mysterious ranch so I used some creative building techniques to get both the worn out look on the walls and the shaping of the roof. I hope fans of the genre/trope, and fans of general lego houses can appreciate my build and spread the word:) Below is a small story I wrote for what I imagine is happening in the set:)

We have arrived with our police car to a remote ranch. If it weren't for the smoke from the chimney, chicken sounds, and the old farmer outside I for sure would have thought the ranch to be abandoned and long forgotten. Rotten, crooked boards are just barely holding the farmhouse together.

The old farmer reluctantly let us search the interior of the Ranch.

The cellar reeks of moldy cheese, and what's this, an old treasure? I wonder if the farmer knows about this.

First floor. It looks like the farmer is preparing supper. Two chairs around the table, but the table is only set for one. Todays newspaper is laid out on the table, quite the headline today with multiple reports of strange lights in the sky.

Second floor. Functions as both the master bedroom, and an office. Strange to have a typewriter but nothing typed on the paper? Speaking of strange, these bookshelves almost looks like... My suspicions were right the bookshelves are doors leading in to a secret study. How, how have he come to this conclusion? And how have he gotten a hold of these photographs?

Attic. A child's bedroom. Dusty cobweb on the walls. A child's drawing. Could it be proof of something more or is it just a child's imagination?

Bright, glowing lights appears outside above the crop field. This is what we're here for, let's investigate further.
