"The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World" was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the United States and is recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. It stands on Ellis Island in the middle of New York Harbour. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886.  It was designated as a National Monument in 1924.

Designed to be part of the Architecture range the Statue of Liberty set features the complete monument on Ellis Island. The set features the LEGO minifigure of Lady Liberty which would make this the first set in the range to use a full size figure  - if you are not into the architecture range perhaps you could look at this as the UCS Lady Liberty Minifigure Display Stand :).

The set has 628 parts and the base measures 195 x 218 mm. The Statue of Liberty is an icon and is immediately linked to New York and the USA. The set would make an ideal souvenir of visits to the Statue and New York.
