I love Disney movies. When I saw there was a Disney lego competition, I jumped on it. I started thinking up different movies and what I should make. One day, I woke up in the morning to my little sister watching Dumbo. She had just gotten to the Casey Jr scene and at that moment I knew what I wanted to build. This set did not make it far in the competition but I would like to give it a whirl in the submission phase.
This set was made with a little over 400 pieces and I didn’t add any characters just because I couldn’t build a brick substitute for dumbo. However, I know that Lego has released a Disney set with a dumbo figure in it so maybe if this gets approved they might add one.
The bird on the top is a brick built stork and if you look closely on the pictures you can see sticker detail I’ve added.
If you look at the side view, you can see the various elements that I added to make the train look as close to the real thing as possible. I used multiple pieces to make the right sized grill for the train, used technic pieces for the attachment of the wheels, and I used various other techniques in this set as well.
